I am proud of my varied interests outside of academia!

In no particular order, I am:

• A committed family man, happily married to my wife Olivia and the proud fur-father of a cat (Lazer Beam) and a dog (Bianca).

• An avid writer of science-fiction, especially transhumanist and utopian. Favorite authors: Kim Stanley Robinson, Ted Chiang, Isaac Asimov, Margaret Atwood, P.D. James, Arthur C. Clarke.

• An inveterate sports fan. I follow most sports year-round.
  I was a sprint runner in middle and high school and I've been a bad tennis and football (soccer) player my whole life.

• A movie buff. My all-time top three: 2001 A Space Odyssey,
  The Thin Red Line, The English Patient.

• A lover of breadth over depth, in academia and in life.
